The EIT ICT Labs Outreach Programme 2014 was presented in Vilnius.
The Director of the EIT ICT Labs Budapest Associate Partner Group, Zoltán Horváth delivered a speech at the event ICT 2013 taking place in Vilnius on 6-8 November, with the participation of representatives of the ICT sector.
The event organized by the European Commission was focusing on Horizon 2020 – the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. It was opened by the Vice President of the European Commission, Neelie Kroes and the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė. The Outreach Programme 2014 of EIT ICT Labs was presented during the event, at the session “Educate & Innovate: EIT ICT Labs’ Outreach Strategy” on 8 November. The education related aspects of the initiative were pointed out by Zoltán Horváth, outlining the opportunities offered by the programme for students and educators.
The goal of the outreach initiative of EIT ICT Labs is to develop fruitful partnerships with EU member states not directly connected to the EIT ICT Labs network. The mobility programme of EIT ICT Labs helps students, professors and researchers living in the focus countries to join international EIT ICT Labs projects. Talented ICT students are supported by scholarship schemes as well in order to enable them to join the EIT ICT Labs Master School’s two-year master programme in top universities. The Outreach Programme also plays an important role in activating start-ups.
